Wishlist Wednesday #1

I've decided to join the lovely Dani from Pen to Paper's weekly blog hop, Wishlist Wednesday. I used to participate in a similar meme but haven't joined in for a few months. Plus I've been following Dani since I started blogging so decided to join in with her blog hop :) Wishlist Wednesday is all about posting about one book that has been on our wishlist for a while (or even just added recently) that we are dying to buy and cross off our lists. Visit Pen to Paper to join in all the fun and link up your Wishlist Wednesday posts.

Across the Universe - Beth Revis (Goodreads)

A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

I only recently added this book to my wishlist and it sounds sooo good. I'm really enjoying getting into the science-fiction genre at the moment after playing the Mass Effect video games and I'm adding countless books to my wishlist. I hope to get this book soon but for some reason the kindle version is more expensive than the paperback version. Hmm maybe I'll see if the price drops as an ebook but otherwise I might treat myself to a nice new book :)

Have you read this book? What did you think about it?

  1. Ooooh..interesting choice! I'm not too big of a sci-fi person, but I recently also read a book with a similar setting, plus the synopsis for this seems promising <3 Treat yourself if you must ;) we all need that every once in a while

  2. Oh dear..I've had mixed feelings about this book. I'm a big sci-fi fan but I think the book concentrate more on the romance.

  9. Interesting choice! I haven't read this, only because I found the beginning extremely boring and I had NO idea what was going on...but that might have been the day or the mood I was in...haha! ;) I might try it again...maybe... ;)

    I hope you enjoy it!
