Showcase Sunday #11

It's Sunday and that means one thing; Showcase Sunday a fun weekly meme hosted by Vicky over @Books, Biscuits and Tea. It's a great way of showing off what we've bought, borrowed and received this week.
Bought:
I, Robot - Isaac Asimov (Goodreads)
Pretties (Uglies #2) - Scott Westerfield (Goodreads)
Specials (Uglies #3) - Scott Westerfield (Goodreads)
Extras (Uglies #4) - Scott Westerfield (Goodreads)
I nearly had a heartache this week when I walked into a beloved bookstore called The Works by me and saw Closing Down Sale plastered all over the walls. Luckily the shop is only moving to another location in the same shopping centre so I can stop worrying. And also there was a half price sale on everything in the store so I grabbed a few goodies. As you can see I thought I was buying the Uglies series of books...only to buy book 2, 3 and 4 and totally forget about the first book! Oops! I felt so stupid afterwards. I don't actually think the book was in the store so I will have to buy a copy off amazon. I, Robot is just another sci-fi book I picked up. I liked the film and the plot and the book looks short so will be a fun read I think :)
 Bought (kindle):
The Assassin and the Pirate Lord
(Throne of Glass 0.1) - Sarah J. Maas (Goodreads)
The Assassin and the Desert
(Throne of Glass 0.2) - Sarah J. Maas (Goodreads)
Not much bought kindle wise this week but I do have a few that I plan on getting next week maybe! I bought these two Throne of Glass novellas earlier but sadly funds ran out so I couldn't get the other two today but will do in the next few days. I finished Throne of Glass two days ago and loved it! It was such an amazing book and I found myself thinking of it quite a few times doing normal everyday things over the past two days. I now have to write the review of it which will be hard to put into words. I'm looking forward to reading the novellas to find out what Celaena was like before all of the happenings in the novel.

Netgalley:
At the Edge of Waking - Holly Phillips (Goodreads)
The Future We Left Behind - Mike A. Lancaster (Goodreads)
Katya's World - Jonathan L. Howard (Goodreads)
Just a few more from Netgalley this week. Despite having a load of netgalley books to read and review I still go and request books like crazy on the site. Oopsie! Will no doubt get round to reading these books soon (added to a very long list)!

  1. Great haul, Becca! LOOOL, I'd probably feel the same way if Indigo was having a huge closing sale. No such luck here, though >_< I still have to read the Uglies series, but I've heard it's so good ^_^ Happy reading this week!

  4. I read Uglies and Pretties a while back, Uglies in particular I really enjoyed. I'm glad The Works is only moving, rather than disappearing completely - they do have some good bargains!

I don't go in The Works that often but it's always really good for bargains (and notebooks!). Enjoy your books =)

  8. Hope your heart wasn't too damaged from the shock. With so many ways to get books, I don't blame your first response.

    :-)
