WWW Wednesday #15

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB over @Should Be Reading. To join in all you have to do is answer the three following questions:
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

Here are my answers for the week! Please live a comment below with a link to your WWW Wednesday posts :) I love to see what you're all doing reading wise this week!

  •   What are you currently reading?
I'm reading a book that I've only just started that is making me head hurt, fall asleep prematurely and almost die of boredom. Obviously I wouldn't choose a book like this myself; it's for my university course this year. 800 odd pages of boredom. Well it might get better so I'll stick with it. As much as I love uni having to read books that I don't necessarily like is a bit of a bummer and my kindle is bursting with books to read!

  •  What did you recently finish?
Since my last WWW post I've read quite a few good books. A few days ago I finished Eden by Keary Taylor which I really enjoyed and I want to find similar books to read as I love the storyline. I've also finished the Throne of Glass novel which was amazing (review to come asap!) and also the four novellas which were great little insights into the world of Celaena before the events of the novel. I now need to get a paperback copy of the novel as it was just so good!

  •  What do you think you'll read next?
I have a lot of uni books to read but if I read them all one after another I think  my head would explode. So I'm going to take breaks in between and read some of the books that I really really really want to read such as Cinder. I'm really looking forward to reading this book so hopefully Middlemarch won't make me hate reading so much before getting round to starting it!

  1. I had to read Middlemarch for my degree as well. I agree with all your head-hurting and falling-asleep sentiments, but somehow, around the halfway mark or so, I started to love it. It's beyond me as to exactly why, but I really enjoyed this book in the end! I think what I did was to try not to view it as The Boring University Book, which is usually the title I gave to most of my uni texts! Good luck :)

I'm sorry that you're not enjoying Middlemarch. =( I read it as part of a read along with some friends earlier this year, and we all loved it. But not every read can be "the right book at the right time" for everyone.

Have your lectures on Middlemarch started? What have your professors had to say about it? (I hope you don't mind my curiosity. I was an English major once, too!)

  3. I had to read Middlemarch for my dissertation, I agree, it's so boring at the beginning! It does get better the more you read though, and in the end the story's not too bad. Good luck getting through it, it really is ok in the end! :)

  5. I read Middlemarch years ago and while I finished it I didn't really like it very much. For me it was just meh. Hopefully for you though it gets better
