Wishlist Wednesday #22

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Dani over @Pen to Paper and is a great way of showing off the books that we are dying to get our hands on :)

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2) - Marissa Meyer

Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.

As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.
Bring on February 5th when this book becomes available! I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of Scarlet as I loved loved loved Cinder so much. It was such a unique retelling of the Cinderella fairytale and I really didn't expect to love it as much as I did. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the author has managed to adapt the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale into a sci-fi story. I will definitely be pre-ordering this book in the new year so it arrives on my doorstep on the exact date that it is published so that I can just devour it there and then. Here's my review of Cinder and a review of The Queen's Army, The Lunar Chronicles #1.5 a short story that was really good!

  13. Yes, I'm looking forward to this one too! Although I heard there wasn't enough Kai in it, so that makes me sad. But I definitely want it.

  14. A GED is often seen as a second chance for those who were not able to secure a high school diploma. Not having a high school diploma can present limitations on the types of work an individual will be able to get. A high school diploma is seen as the most basic academic certification for an adult worker.
