Showcase Sunday #15

It's Sunday and that means one thing; Showcase Sunday a fun weekly meme hosted by Vicky over @Books, Biscuits and Tea. It's a great way of showing off what we've bought, borrowed and received this week.
(Click on the book covers to go to goodreads)

Bought:
The Maze Runner - James Dashner
Uglies - Scott Westerfield
The Other Queen - Philippa Gregory
So I snapped up these books in The Works where they were 3 for £5 (I forgot to take a photo of them and left them in my uni flat). I was desperate to find a copy of Uglies as I recently bought the other three books in the series so I'm glad I managed to get that (despite it being a different cover to the others! boo!). The Maze Runner I've heard lots about so I'm happy that I found it! Philippa Gregory's book I just picked up for the sake of it really haha. I have a ton of her books despite never reading any of her books before. I love historical fiction so it wasn't bought in vain. I'm just in a fantasy and science fiction reading mood lately so will get round to the other genres I love sometime in the future.

Netgalley:
Crewel - Gennifer Albin
I love Netgalleys new look! As soon as the website was back up and running again I managed to request a copy of the book with the beautifully colourful cover; Crewel. It looks good so will read it soon hopefully!

Freebies:
Summer Storm - Elizabeth Baxter
I'm supporting fellow blogger Elizabeth this week as she releases her new novella Summer Storm. I absolutely devoured her short story collection Circle Spinner and Other Tales whilst on holiday in the summer (I still have a review to type up! I'm so slow but all notes were written down!). I really did enjoy her original stories and any fans of science fiction and fantasy will enjoy her book too. I'm looking forward to her latest work and will read it asap!

  1. I haven't seen that cover of Uglies before, but I'm glad you've got the full set now - I've read the first two, and they were pretty good. I never think to go in The Works to look for books, but I might have to have a look next time I'm in town!
