WWW Wednesday #3

This little weekly meme is hosted by MizB over @Should Be Reading and to join in all you have to do is answer the three following questions:
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?
So here are my answers for the week...

  • What are you currently reading?
I have just started reading Melissa Douthit's The Firelight of Maalda, the second book in her Raie'Chaelia series. I am interested in seeing what happens to Chalice, Jeremiah and co and to see where the story takes me. The first book was a good read, with some minor little faults that hardly stops the book from being exciting, and I feel that it's a good young adult fantasy book for people who want to start reading the genre. So it's early days yet for the second book so I'll tell you all about it very soon.

  • What did you recently finish reading?
I have just finished reading Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice, the first book in the Farseer trilogy. It was such a good read! I gave it 4 stars on goodreads but I really meant 4.5, I felt that the magical concepts such as the Wit and the Skill, althought completely original, weren't fully explained and I was a little confused now and again. But other than that her writing was so convincing and the use of the first narrative was also very well thought out as I totally sided with Fitz on everything and truly hated the baddies just as he did. Oh, how I hated them. Such a good book that I seriously need to buy the next two in the series now! Review to come ASAP!

  • What do you think you'll read next?
I have so many ARR's to do, so after I read and review The Firelight of Maalda I think I'll read the next one on my list; The Dark Lord's Handbook by Paul Dale. It looks like a very funny read so I'm looking forward to starting this. A nice different little twist on the whole genre of fantasy.

So what are you reading this week? Any great books you've finished reading? And what are you planning on reading next? Let me know! x
