In My Mailbox #6

It's Sunday so that means it's time for In My Mailbox, a weekly meme hosted over @The Story Siren. I haven't got as much goodies this week but still got a few little buys to show you and even one WIN! :) Make sure you leave your links below in the comment section so that I can check out all of your IMM's; I love seeing what you've all bought, borrowed and received!!

Bought:
The Last Stormlord - Glenda Larke (Goodreads)
To Defy a King - Elizabeth Chadwick (Goodreads)

I'm quite shocked that I only bought two books this week. Normally I'm not quite so good and end up buying way too many. I love Elizabeth Chadwick's historical fiction novels. They're so detailed and so authentic that I just love being transported to the medieval period, and the complexity of the characters and their relationships is greatly described by her. I have so many of her books and I enjoy reading them now and again, but I find if I read them one after the other I get confused by what story is what. I grabbed To Defy a King of the shelf as soon as I saw it and was treated to it by my grandma :) The Last Stormlord I bought from the market by me for £1 and it sounded pretty good so I thought I'd give it a go. I do love my fantasy.

Won:
When the Sea is Rising Red - Cat Hellisen (Goodreads)

I won a giveaway. I actually won something. Can you tell that it's my first time to win something? I got to choose which ebook that I wanted out a few and this sounded really good and a little different to what I'm usually used to. It does have vampires in it but ever since I read A Discovery of Witches I've warmed to them...slightly. I'm looking forward to reading this. Just a little chuffed that I won something!

Received for Review:
Deep into the Heart of a Rose - G. T. Denny (Goodreads)

The author of this book kindly sent me this book all the way from the United States and I'm so grateful that I get to read it because it sounds so good. It's quite a chunky book so I'll try and read it asap. The book is presented lovely too and it has a nice little map at the beginning which is something I find invaluable when reading a fantasy book. I'm looking forward to reading this book.

Freebies:
 Brimstone - Alan Skinner (Goodreads)
Frontier at Three Rivers - Sam Hossler (Amazon)
Into the Woods - Linda Jones (Goodreads)
Assassin - Matthew Iden (Goodreads)
The Rape of Guinevere - Gavin Chappell (Goodreads)

I download way too many free books onto my kindle. There is always the chance that they may not be good at all but for free I can't really complain and all it takes is one simple click and they're deleted! They all have something about them that I'm interested in so hopefully I'll get round to them soon...after I'm down with the million other books on my kindle haha!

NetGalley:
Feather - Susan Page Davis (Netgalley)

I spend way too much time trawling the pages of netgalley looking for books I might be interested in. I already have 5/6 books on there approved that I need to review so I really should stop requesting more!

What's In Your Mailbox this week?

I know what you mean about Netgalley- I try to stay away until I've read the books I've already got, but sometimes it is just too tempting :)
