Showcase Sunday #7

Yay its Sunday and that means one thing: Showcase Sunday! I have had a pretty good week book wise and I just couldn't wait to show all my goodies off to you all. Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted over @Books, Biscuits and Tea.

Books:
The Lies of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch (Goodreads)
The Book of the New Sun - Gene Wolfe (Goodreads)
The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss (Goodreads)
Do Robots Dream of Electric Sheep - Philip K. Dick (Goodreads)
Eric - Terry Pratchett (Goodreads)
Hyperion - Dan Simmons (Goodreads)
Flowers for Algernon -Daniel Keyes (Goodreads)
I am Legend - Richard Matheson (Goodreads)
Kings & Queens, Chiefs & Rulers - Paul Chesire and David Loades (Amazon)
Wowee! My mammy treated me to a wonderful set of books this week. The Gollancz 50th Anniversary Fantasy Collection is just amazing and as soon as I saw it mentioned by another blogger I knew that I had to have it and for only £8.99 (from the BookPeople) it was a bargain! It's a mixture of some of the top fantasy and science fiction books and they all look so good. The covers are a bit of an eyesore, the garish yellow colour is a bit striking but also gives it a uniqueness don't you think? I can't wait to read them all :) The history book is one I bought a few days ago for like £2.99! A complete bargain. I love love love history so as soon as I saw this book I knew it was mine muhaha.

Review Books:
 Dragon Fate - J. D. Hallowell (Goodreads)
Empty Altars - Judith Post (Goodreads)
These are the last of the review books I'm taking on for a while as I just really just want to read a load of the books on my bookshelf for a few weeks or months even. Don't get me wrong I love reading review books and the generosity of the authors for giving me their books to read is just amazing. But the amount of books piling up that I want to read is just so massive so I need to get a move on and read them! Anyway, these books look really good and really interesting and will instantly start to read them :)

What books did you get this week? Please leave a comment below to your blogs so that I can check all your posts out :)

  1. £8.99 is an absolute bargain! and they'll keep you entertained for an age :-) I know what you mean about wanting to get on top of the book stack. I doubt I have quite as many as you, buy I have so many good self bought books I don't get round to because I feel committed to a review promise .

  9. Normally I'm not much of a history/historical fiction fan but Kings & Queens, Chiefs & Ruler sounds SO good!!

And I agree with Ellie - there's something about these books that makes you want to pick them up. I don't even care that they're yellow and quite simple.. they're unique!
